These opportunities are open to DP students who want to contribute to the mathematics community in the school — and to their own development — beyond timetabled classes.
CAS peer tutoring
DP students tutor MYP students in mathematics as part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) commitment. Tutors work in pairs or small groups, supported by a member of the maths department, and meet once a week during the school day.
Lead the maths competition club
An ongoing opportunity for DP students to take on running our weekly maths competition club: organising the sessions, curating problems for different year groups, supporting younger students through Kangaroo, FSJM, and ISMTF preparation, and developing real leadership skills alongside genuine problem-solving practice. Calculator drive — recycling and reselling
Each year we give Year 12 students the opportunity to develop their leadership and project-management skills by planning and running our calculator recycling and/or reselling drive at the end of the academic year. The project restarts each year, so the approach may differ — recycling, reselling, or a mix — and that is part of the experience and learning process for our Year 12 students. As details become available, links and updates will be posted here. Look out for information towards the end of the academic year.
