Assessment Overview
Assessment in MYP Mathematics follows the IB framework using four criteria (A–D). Each year's assessments are designed to build conceptual understanding alongside procedural fluency.
Knowing and Understanding
Select and apply mathematical strategies; use appropriate notation and terminology.
Investigating Patterns
Select and apply mathematical problem-solving techniques to discover complex patterns; describe as relationships or general rules.
Communicating
Use appropriate mathematical language and different forms of representation; move between them.
Applying Mathematics in Real-Life Contexts
Transfer mathematical knowledge and skills to solve problems in real-world and non-routine contexts.
Year 7 MYP 1
Curiosity through cross-curricular themes
Year 8 MYP 2
Building topic foundations
Year 9 MYP 3
